The bill specifically designates TikTok as an app controlled by a foreign enemy and requires ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, to sell TikTok within 165 days of the law taking effect, or else the U.S. Ban measures will be taken. But TikTok strongly pushed back, saying the bill had a “predetermined outcome of a total ban on TikTok in the United States.”
