A woman who accused Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott of sexual assault has filed a lawsuit alleging that she and her attorney blackmailed her.
Prescott filed a lawsuit in Collin County, Texas, against Victoria Shores and her attorneys Bethel Zehaie and Yoel Zehaie. According to Pro Football Talk.
Prescott says in his lawsuit that his attorneys sent him a letter in January alleging that he sexually assaulted their client in 2017.
“MS. Mr. Shores has had to live with this pain and trauma for seven years,” the letter said. “It had a huge impact on her relationship with her fiancé and on her daily life, so she had to go to therapy and counseling and will continue to need therapy and counseling.” She is suffering unimaginable mental pain from the trauma of sexual assault.
“Despite the tragic events, she intends to release this information to the public and refrain from filing criminal charges in exchange for compensation for the emotional distress she has suffered. Ms. Shores’ damages total $1. You must respond to this reminder by February 16, 2024.”
The 2017 season was Prescott’s second season in the NFL.
According to WFAAThe accuser’s letter alleges that Prescott “inflicted physical violence and sexual assault.” [the woman] She told him that she did not want to have sex and that she had made his wishes known verbally, and then he penetrated her vagina against her consent in the SUV.
Levi McCathern, Prescott’s attorney who also represented former Cowboys wideout Michael Irvin over the past year, issued a statement to PFT.
“Recently, Mr. Prescott became aware that he was the subject of an extortion scheme,” Mr. Macassan said.
“The defendant and her legal team threatened to release a completely fabricated story about a sexual assault from nearly a decade ago and demanded that Ms. Prescott immediately pay $100 million in exchange for not pressing charges against authorities.
“Mr. Prescott, a new father of a baby girl, has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault. He believes all perpetrators of such crimes will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.” To be clear, Mr. Prescott has never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone. Lies hurt, especially malicious lies. I We will not allow the defendant and her legal team to profit from this attempt to extort millions of dollars from Ms. Prescott.”
Mr. McCassan added that Mr. Prescott had reported the matter to the “appropriate authorities,” and said his client will cooperate with any investigation and will donate proceeds to the Joyful Heart Foundation if the case is successful.
The allegations in Mr. Prescott’s lawsuit include defamation, slander, and civil extortion/extortion.
As of this writing, it is unclear whether Shores and her attorney will file a countersuit.
