Earlier this week, a 27-year-old Florida woman died during a trip to the Bahamas, and authorities found cocaine in her cabin.
The passenger was found unresponsive Monday around 5:30 p.m.
“A team of medical personnel on board rescued him and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but no signs of life were detected and he was pronounced dead,” the Royal Bahamas Police Department said in a statement. said in a statement.
The woman’s official cause of death has not been disclosed.
“An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Investigation into this incident is ongoing.”
The 32-year-old American man, also from Florida, was arrested by the RBPF after an investigation led to the discovery and seizure of “a large quantity of suspected cocaine on board the aircraft.”
The identities of the two Florida residents have not been released.
Monday’s death came a month after a Kentucky mother of two was drugged and raped while staying at a resort enjoying a day in port from a Carnival cruise on Grand Bahama Island.
Friends Amber Shearer and Dongueira Dobson were on a child-free holiday at Pirates Cove Resort when a male staff member offered them a two-for-one deal on tropical drinks.
But the drink was stronger than expected and the two women were severely intoxicated 15 minutes after taking their first sips, Dobson said. he told NewsNation’s “Cuomo.”
A second resort employee allegedly lured the women to a secluded area and eventually led them, disabled, to the location where they were assaulted.
LaDonna Batty, a family nurse from Arkansas, was a passenger on the same Carnival cruise the women were on when the ship docked on Grand Bahama Island.
“In my 20-odd years of practice, this was the worst scene I’ve ever had to work in. It was a horrible situation for both girls.” Batty told LEX 18. “The worst thing I’ve ever seen. They were in terrible misery.”
