Leftist Labour Party Leader Starmer Backs Trans Sports Ban

Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer has confirmed that he has finally decided that transgender people should take part in sport, admitting that he does not think biological men should be able to play against women.

After years of hesitation on the issue, in an apparent attempt to preserve the far-left Progressive base without alienating the wider public, Lord Keir said that in the end “common sense must prevail”. Stated.

“I think the important thing is for sports governing bodies to take the lead on this,” he says. Said Telegraph Sports.

“And they’re doing that and we support their efforts, especially in elite sports. So that’s where the decisions should be made. They’ve made some decisions.

“And ultimately, common sense must prevail when it comes to safety and integrity in sports.”

Mr Starmer’s comments come almost two years after he refused to answer whether transgender swimmer Leah Thomas could compete against female swimmers at the Olympics.

The Labor leader also drew criticism for appearing to be confused by the simple question of whether women can have penises.

“No, no, it’s just –” he said in 2022. “No, no, I just – I don’t – um, I don’t think discussing this issue like this will help anyone in the long run.”

The following year, Starmer Admitted While insisting that women are “adult women,” she said she believes a system based on so-called self-identification is not the “right direction.”

Starmer’s new position comes as the country faces a likely general election, with the Conservative government calling on Britain’s sports governing body to ban biological males from participating in women’s sport. I think we are in almost the same position.

So far, British governing bodies for athletics, cycling and swimming have all announced bans on biological males taking part in women’s sports, while soccer and cricket’s governing bodies have yet to announce a ban on biological males taking part in women’s sports. No ban has been announced.

British former Olympic swimmer Sharon Davies Said GB News: “I have to say it’s good news to hear from Keir today.”

But Ms Davies said she was not “holding her breath” given Mr Starmer’s flip-flopping past, adding: “First and foremost, he needs to be able to identify what a woman is. . If that were the case, we would know that we would not be able to protect women,” he added. You can’t define them. ”

“No matter what hormones you take, no matter how much testosterone you suppress, no matter what surgeries you have, you are still male or female… “It’s a thing,” Davis declared.
