Concorde jet is making its way back to the Intrepid Museum after restoration

British Airways’ iconic supersonic jet, the Concorde G-BOAD, will return to the Intrepid Museum in New York City after months of restoration at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

The Concorde, which holds the record for the fastest transatlantic crossing by a passenger plane, will be transported from Brooklyn to Weeks Marine in Jersey City, where it will be stored overnight.

This will be our final trip back to the Intrepid Museum at Pier 86, and we are scheduled to arrive after 9am.

The long, needle-nosed jet looked impressive with its fresh paint job as it passed the Brooklyn Bridge, One World Trade, and the Statue of Liberty on its way to the Garden State.

This historic aircraft first debuted on the Intrepid in 2003.
