Popular radio host Charlamagne the God warns Democrats that they have a hemorrhaging influence on black voters and that this could become very clear in the 2024 election. He claimed that there was.
Born Leonard Larry McKelvey, Radio Shock jock and comedian. Appeared on Vox Podcast Today’s explanation Box reported that he spoke with Noel King on March 10 and pointed out that Democrats have not actually done much to help the black community.
“I mean, Democrats have done a lot more, but I’ve never really seen anyone who’s going to systematically help us get out of this situation that we’re in, because it’s something that people will never Because I think it’s a problem that we don’t really address,” Dr. King said.
But the broadcaster also pointed out that Joe Biden isn’t just losing support among blacks, calling it foolish just to say Biden is losing black votes.
“When people say this these days, I wonder why they only focus on black voters when they see him dropping further and further down than other people,” he said.
Charlamagne also pushed back against those on the left who say he shouldn’t criticize the Biden-Harris campaign. He noted that they say they can’t criticize Biden because Trump is a “threat to democracy.” But Charlamagne is unfazed by that argument.
“If there’s a threat to democracy on the other side, what’s the problem with asking that question? Is it still a winnable ticket? When you look at polls and approval ratings, you don’t have to ask that question. What’s wrong with doing that? When David Axelrod said, [it]Nobody said anything,” he said of questioning Biden’s ability to defeat Trump in November.
“But when a black guy in a hoodie from a hip-hop station says something, everyone has a problem,” he explained. “All of my strength comes from people. I literally give them every day, whether it’s calling into a radio station in the morning, walking down the street in New York, or at home in South Carolina. I’m just asking the same questions that working-class people ask me. These are the things I hear people saying.”
The entertainer added that he received backlash from leftists such as MSNBC for saying immigration would be a very important issue in the next election.
“There are people in Chicago and New York who are complaining about the resources that they feel immigrants are getting that people in their communities who have lived there all their lives are not receiving,” he said. Ta. “And we literally had MSNBC run a headline that said God Charlamagne is promoting MAGA messaging. Now, two months later, all everyone’s talking about is the border. I mean. Literally, my answer came from talking to ordinary, everyday people. So how can we get the MAGA message across when it’s coming from people?”
Asked if he thought 23% of black Americans were really likely to vote for Trump, the broadcaster demurred, insisting that Biden could turn things around if he started his campaign the right way.
“If you look at Joe Biden’s approval ratings, he’s faring badly everywhere, and not just with Black people. So to really get that campaign on the right track, what’s going on in that campaign? , and I think we need to start looking holistically at how different groups of people feel about him,” he said.
