It has long been speculated that professional wrestling superstar Mercedes Mone would make her official All Elite Wrestling debut at the company’s Big Business Special in Boston.

Sure enough, Mone appeared on AEW Dynamite: Big Business, entering the tunnel and descending the ramp toward the ring to the chant of “CEO.”

Mone competed in New Japan Pro Wrestling and Stardom, and appeared on AEW’s All In pay-per-view in the summer before stepping into the AEW ring.

Monet, with the word “CEO” emblazoned on his robe and hair, delivered an emotional promo to the Boston crowd. She expressed her gratitude to the fans who stood by her as she embarked on her new journey as a professional wrestler, leaving WWE where she was known as Sasha Banks.

“Do you want to know why I’m here? Because I need to be here,” she said. “I want to be here. AEW is the only place where we can take this revolution worldwide, and we’re going to make it happen.

Mone then set her sights on Willow Nightingale as her first potential opponent. Nightingale defeated Mone in her final match, and in May 2023 she became New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Strongest Women’s Champion. Monet was injured during the match and she has not played in a match since.

Fightful Select reported in December that Mone was expected to join AEW.

Mone competed in WWE from 2012 to 2022 and had some memorable matches that took the women’s division to the next level. She and tag team partner Naomi vacated her tag team titles after leaving the show. They were reportedly upset about the contract.
