Assuming the Chicago Bears take Caleb Williams with the first pick, he would be a great fit for them.
That’s because they reportedly acquired six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers as a fourth-round pick.
Los Angeles released wide receiver Mike Williams earlier this week, so Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnston are now the top two outside weapons.

It’s been a tough year for the Chargers. After making the playoffs in 2022, the Chargers fired Brandon Staley midway through the season. Justin Herbert also suffered an injury midway through the year.
However, one bright spot was Allen’s performance. Allen, 31, had a career-high 108 receptions for 1,243 yards and seven scores, but missed the final four games of the season. He had 18 catches for 215 yards in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Chicago’s quarterback situation is still up in the air, but it was long expected that they would trade away Justin Fields and select Williams with the No. 1 pick. However, Fields’ future is in question after several teams went the free agent route to fill the QB hole.
Of course, general manager Ryan Pauls has said he would consider the idea of trading the No. 1 overall pick, but a move for Fields seems much more likely. And if they end up trading Fields, they’ll certainly be better than what they gave up for Allen.

Los Angeles, on the other hand, has the No. 5 pick, and with Allen and Williams gone, they’re in line to secure one of the top three wide receivers in Marvin Harrison, Roma Odunze, and Malik Nabors. There is.
Meanwhile, Chicago is solidifying its veteran corps in DJ Moore, tight end Cole Kmet and recently signed running back D’Andre Swift. In his first year in Chicago, Moore had the best season of his career with 96 receptions for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns. Kmet also had career highs with 73 catches for 719 yards.
Oh, and the Bears also have the No. 9 pick.
The move frees up $23.1 million in cap space for the Chargers, but his $18.1 million salary is not guaranteed (he was paid a $5 million roster bonus Sunday).
