‘Over 1,000’ drone incursions per month at southern border — smugglers are ‘trying to find gaps’: Air Force general

“There are probably more than 1,000 a month,” he declared.

Senators asked Mr. Guillot whether an invasion across the southern border posed a threat to defense, to which Mr. Guillot replied, “We are cautious.”

“I haven’t seen any of them emerge as a threat to the national defense level, but I think that potential is only increasing,” he said.

Guyot said most of the unmanned drones flying near the southern border are operated by “spotters” who “try to find gaps” to slip past law enforcement.

He also pointed out that some of the drone activity on the southern border is part of the federal government’s efforts to monitor illegal activity.
