Tom Tiffany, Andy Ogles Urge Joe Biden to Halt Immigration from Haiti

Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wis.) and Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) say Joe Biden is fighting for his life as armed militias terrorize Haiti in what they call a “bloody revolution.” They are calling on President Biden to completely suspend all immigration from Haiti to the United States. ”

In a letter obtained exclusively by Breitbart News, the lawmakers said they were “alarmed” by reports that the Biden administration was being treated unfairly. under consideration Guantanamo Bay is being used as a processing facility to support a potential “mass exodus” of Haitians to the United States.

“We also want to reassure you that this effort is the first in a broader plan to bring tens of thousands of additional Haitians to the United States outside of normal visa rules, and to address the dire immigration crisis your policies have fueled here at home.” We are concerned that this may worsen the situation,” Tiffany and Ogles wrote.

Lawmakers are calling on Biden to cut off entry from Haiti amid an ongoing insurgency led by gang leader Jimmy “Barbeque” Chéridier. Chéridier’s armed militias have already released thousands of prisoners from prison, kidnapped Catholic priests and terrorized Christians.

“We are not in a peaceful revolution. We are in a bloody revolution in this country because this regime is an apartheid regime, an evil regime,” Chéridier said of the riots. .

Tiffany and Ogles write that the United States should not bear the brunt of turmoil abroad.

Over the past three years, your administration has ignored immigration laws, abused its power, and turned much of America into a dumping ground filled with aliens from failed states. This has to stop. It is not America’s responsibility to permanently admit large numbers of citizens from unstable developing countries, nor is it in the best interests of the American people. Keep doing that. [Emphasis added]

Rather than make this already dire situation even worse, I hope you will use your existing powers to take this prospect off the table completely. Under Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act Suspend entry of Haitian nationals For the near future. [Emphasis added]

Tiffany and Ogles told Biden that admitting tens of thousands more Haitians would put additional strain on social services, public resources and city infrastructure. Instead, they write, Biden should ask neighboring French-speaking countries to take in Haitians fleeing the situation.

Instead of has almost certainly begun a process that will result in large numbers of unvetted Haitians flooding into American communities. – Put more pressure on local social services, safety net programs, public health infrastructure and schools – Urge Caribbean Community (CARICOM) member states and other French-speaking regions in the region to accommodate a “mass exodus” from Haiti We should put pressure on them to do so. Other countries will have to “pay their fair share,” as you like to say. [Emphasis added]

From 2021 to 2022, the United States has allowed approximately 142,500 Haitians on temporary visas and 22,000 Haitians with green cards to resettle in the United States.

In addition to these legal immigration routes, Biden pulled tens of thousands of Haitians from their home country into the United States through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) parole pipeline.
