The Biden campaign raised about $53 million in February and has $155 million in cash on hand as it looks to build a big fundraising advantage over Trump’s campaign ahead of the general election.
The campaign announced that February was President Biden’s biggest grassroots fundraising month since he began his re-election campaign last April, and that the campaign will beat its own grassroots fundraising tally by four months. It was a consecutive month.
His campaign boasted that the $155 million in cash on hand is the most ever for a Democratic candidate at this point in an election cycle.
“We’re proud of the record-breaking fundraising machine we’ve built to reach voters about the stakes in this election. We’ve expanded our reach in each state, invested in paid media and The aim is to spread the word across the United States.” And we are just getting started,” Biden campaign official Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a statement.
“The numbers and operations of Donald Trump and the RNC tell a different story: one of division, incompetence, and a fundamental inability to build a coalition capable of winning 270 electoral votes,” she said. added. “The stakes in this election could not be higher for the future of this country. Our historic fundraising efforts will help ensure every voter is aware of the stakes in this election come November. It will be.”
The Biden campaign had already touted strong fundraising numbers in early March. The campaign said it received $10 million in donations in the 24 hours following Biden’s State of the Union address in early March, the largest amount raised in 24 hours to date.
The campaign announced earlier this month that it would spend $30 million on advertising over six weeks, more than the president spent in all of 2023 after announcing he would seek re-election in April.
Meanwhile, fundraising is a particular concern for the RNC and the Trump campaign, which has burned through millions of dollars in legal fees.
The RNC reported weak fundraising in 2023, with just over $8 million in cash on hand as of early 2024.
