In an interview with the BBC on Sunday, Princess Diana’s brother Charles Spencer was asked about the current conspiracy theories surrounding Kate, as well as the media attention his late sister received during her lifetime.

“If you look back at the treatment of my sister Princess Diana by the press, in 2024, and you look at how the paparazzi have developed into this kind of online circus, online free-for-all, there’s probably a danger that “Do you think that’s more powerful than looking at what’s happening right now around the current Princess of Wales?” Laura Kuenssberg said, referring to Kate Middleton, 42. asked Spencer, 59.

“Do you think the dangers of the online, almost conspiracy theory-like world are more powerful than the media intrusion you’ve been fighting?” she added.

“No, I think it was more dangerous in the past,” he said with conviction.

“If you look back at Princess Diana’s death in 1997, I think it was very shocking. … The circumstances of her death were so shocking that the industry that supports the paparazzi is trying to figure out what they can do. “Now we’re thinking more carefully about what we can do,” he said.

Princess Diana tragically died in a car accident in 1997. She was only 36 years old. Since her death, Spencer has accused the media of interfering in her sister’s life. Even with a new woman on the throne, media interest in the Princess of Wales continues. Duchess Kate has been recuperating out of the spotlight from her abdominal surgery, which has kept her in the headlines in recent months.

The princess, who was discovered in early March by photographers driven by her mother Carole Middleton, had not been seen since December.

Last weekend, Middleton broke her silence and released a photo of her family that ultimately sparked more questions. Some news agencies determined that the photo had been “manipulated” and “deleted” it.

The Princess of Wales later admitted that she had edited the photo and apologized. Following Middleton’s confession, Instagram labeled the account’s posts as “altered photos” for its 15.2 million followers.

“Independent fact-checkers maintain that the photos and images have been edited in a way that could potentially mislead people, but not because they were taken out of context,” the warning states. It’s dark.
