Former President Donald Trump told Fox News Channel’s “Media Buzz” on Sunday that Republicans need to include three exceptions to their position on abortion if they want to win.
When asked about rape, incest, and motherhood exceptions, President Trump said, “If you look at France, you look at different parts of Europe, you look at a lot of the civilized world, they… There was a certain period of time.” . But you can’t go out for seven, eight, nine months. Even if the Republicans talked about it correctly, it never hurt me from an electoral standpoint. That hurt many Republicans. I think we can and must have three exceptions. ”
He added, “I tell people, first of all, you have to do it with your heart. You have to go with your heart. But more than that, you have to be elected.” And I think it would be very difficult to get elected unless there were three exceptions. There was a gentleman from Pennsylvania who was very energetic. He refused to comply with the exception and ran for governor. So we lost in a landslide. A kind man went missing in a landslide. We have to accept an exception.
