Luke Combs has been one of the biggest names in country music, especially over the past few years. Combs’ catchy songs have allowed him to perform to enthusiastic audiences around the world.
Combs grew up in North Carolina. He was born on March 2, 1990 to parents Rhonda Combs and Chester Combs. He is the only child for the pair.
The country music artist decided to continue his stay in the Tar Heel State and studied at Appalachian State University. Combs dropped out of school with less than a year left and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in country music.

He released his first EP, The Way She Rides, in 2014, several years before releasing his debut album, This One’s for You, in 2017. Combs’ popular song “Hurricane” was included on this album, as was “When It Rains It Pours.”
Combs’ second album, What You See Is What You Get, was released in November 2019. The album, which included songs such as “Beer Never Broke My Heart” and “Lovin’ on You,” reached number one on the Billboard charts. “Cold As You,” “Better Together,” and “Forever After All.”

His third album “Growin’ Up” was released in June 2022. “The Kind of Love We Make,” “Doin’ This,” and “Going, Going, Gone” are fan favorites from this album.
Combs’ latest album, Gettin’ Old, was scheduled for release in March 2023. “Where the Wild Things Are” is one of the most listened to songs on this fourth album by the country superstar.
Much of Combs’ buzz came from his cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car.” After performing “Fast Car” at many shows, the singer released a cover song in 2023. Covers of 80’s songs have reached the top of the music charts.

Last July, during a show in Foxboro, Mass., Combs brought a young cancer survivor named Cooper on stage for a duet of “Fast Car.”
“Fast Car” was performed again at the Grammy Awards in February 2024, this time with Chapman singing alongside Combs. The duet with Chapman and Combs marked one of her few public appearances since her last tour in 2009.
Combs’ music has earned him many high honors, including a total of seven Grammy Awards.

Other accolades include three Academy of Country Music Awards and nine Country Music Association Awards.

In addition to his chart-topping music, Combs is married to Nicole Hocking. The couple tied the knot in Florida in August 2020 and welcomed two sons, Tex Lawrence Combs and Beau Lee Combs, in 2022 and 2023.
In March 2023, Combs announced on his Instagram that his wife was pregnant with their second child.
“Joining the 2 Under 2 Club! Baby Boy #2 is coming in September!!” he wrote. The post was overlaid with “Take You with Me,” which Combs released later that week.
