Israel Should ‘Finish’ the War ‘Quickly’ by Defeating Hamas

Former President Donald Trump said Israel should “quickly” “end” its war with Hamas in Gaza to restore “peace” to the world.

President Trump’s remarks were made in an interview with Fox News’ Howard Kurtz.

Axios on the left spun President Trump’s remarks encourage Israel to abandon the war.

However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said since February that he too wants to attack Hamas’ last stronghold in the city of Rafah and end the war in “weeks, not months.”

The Biden administration opposes Israeli attacks on Hamas in Rafah, ostensibly out of concern for Palestinian civilians, but civilian casualties would likely be less if Hamas were defeated quickly.

Even more ironically, critics believe the Biden administration is using the continued existence of Hamas as a means to increase its influence over Israel and force Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to recognize a Palestinian state run by the Palestinian Authority. There is.

Meanwhile, the protracted debate over Rafah, including Mr. Biden’s request for talks with Israel in Washington, has likely made the suffering of Palestinian civilians even worse than if Israel had been allowed to quickly defeat Hamas. It can be said that there are.

Earlier this month, President Trump Said Fox News argued that Israel should “settle things” and defeat Hamas. He added that if he had been president, the war would never have happened.

After several wars under the Obama administration, Hamas was relatively quiet during the four years of the Trump administration.

Trump also told Kurtz that Biden told Netanyahu to “walk.” Relations between Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu have cooled since Netanyahu congratulated Biden on his victory in the 2020 presidential election.

Trump incorrectly said Netanyahu was the “first” to congratulate Biden. Indeed, after American media networks called the race, they resisted the growing political pressure within Israel to recognize Biden as the winner as tenaciously as politically possible.
