‘Other Dublin’ campaign in Ohio city draws people from Ireland

It was the wrong Dublin, but the right deal.

An Ohio city with the same name as Ireland’s capital lured visitors from across the pond for a St. Patrick’s Day prank by offering free beer and Midwestern hospitality.

Ten Irish nationals traveled internationally from a European country to an American city of 50,000 people in response to the ‘Another Dublin’ promotional campaign. According to a report from Axios.

“What you lack in size, you make up for in charm and shameless offers of free beer. Plus, you’ll really be the lunatic (or lunatic) of a group of friends who flew to America for booze. And it’s very It’s a precious thing.”

The total number of participants in the boozy bribery event was limited to 25 people, allowing the tourism board to reach its maximum target of 40%.

Sara Blatnik, a spokeswoman for the tourism board, told Axios that a group of four young people and several couples flew in over the past two weekends.

She noted that many of the travelers had family or friends in the area, but the promotion motivated them to plan their trip.

Guests were not given free beer, but each store provided a $200 Visa gift card to spend on Guinness or other lagers.
