Independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. has not yet confirmed a running mate, but said Tuesday he would never choose someone “based on how much money they have.”
“One of our, our campaign’s key priorities is to get young people involved in politics and to address the current poverty and hopelessness that is affecting this generation,” President Kennedy said Tuesday. , told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo.
Kennedy’s campaign hinted over the weekend that lawyer and investor Nicole Shanahan was one of its independent running mate candidates. Last week, Kennedy’s campaign confirmed to The Hill that New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura are on his list of running mate candidates.
The campaign told The Hill last week that other potential candidates include Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (I-Hawaii), Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and former presidential candidate Andrew Yang. He said it was sexual.
Mr. Cuomo asked Mr. Kennedy to choose Mr. Shanahan, who is “known for having a lot of money,” in response to criticism and suggestions that he would be “willing to pay for his campaign.”
Shanahan is a California lawyer and ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin.Reports revealed that she was brought into Kennedy’s orbit last month she helped me pay Kennedy’s 7-digit Super Bowl ad.
“Yeah, I mean, I would never choose a running mate based on how much money they have,” Kennedy said. “I talked to Aaron, and as you pointed out, I talked to a lot of other people. I like some of the reasons. I talked to Ms. Nicole. Some of the same reasons. , they are young.”
“Nicole, like Aaron, and like Aaron Rodgers, is committed to regenerative agriculture and reporting to end the chronic disease epidemic, to address the dire $34 trillion national debt that is hitting our young people. I’m interested in freedom. So, you know, I like both.”
Kennedy added that he believes his campaign has a number of “great candidates that we’ve talked about” and will announce his running mate on Tuesday, March 26 in Oakland, California.
