On CNBC’s Monday broadcast of “The Last Call,” Sen. Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia) said the Biden administration “turned a blind eye to the ghost ships coming out of Iran” to lower gas prices. said. It takes away resources, oil revenues, and causes further chaos and terrorism around the world. ”
Mr. Manchin began by arguing that the White House should be more proud of its energy production performance, saying:[W]Chicken gasoline is now $5 a gallon. That goes back to his 2021 era. Back then he was down to $5 and something had to be done. Sorry, it was 2022. Inflation at the time was 9%. we had to do something. And we wrote this bill and they said, why call it an IRA? And I said that the Inflation Control Act means that inflation goes down, not up. If we can do that, we have achieved it. It went from 9% to 3%. …It looked beautiful [well] I worked. We put a lot more into it. This administration is mandating we produce more fossils, we use cleaner technology, and we invest in the environment by being carbon-free. we did it. And we’re producing more products, and by producing more products, we’re basically displacing dirtier products. ”
Manchin added, “When they were desperate and everybody wanted to keep prices low and they were raising money for Cain with the president…he went to Saudi Arabia and asked them to produce more, but they… went in the opposite direction. They allowed Venezuela to contaminate over 80% of Venezuelan oil…and turned a blind eye to the ghost ships coming out of Iran, which They are using their resources and oil revenue to create more havoc and terrorism around the world. So tell me, when people are cornered, they need energy to become the world’s superpower, and energy We recognize that we have to be secure and energy independent, and that’s who we are.”
