1 dead, 1 injured after off-road vehicle takes 80-foot dive off Kentucky cliff

A man was killed and a woman injured after losing control of his car and falling off an 80-foot cliff at an off-road adventure park in eastern Kentucky, authorities said.

Powell County Search and Rescue said in a social media post that crews responded to a report of a utility vehicle crash at Hollerwood Off-Road Adventure Park Saturday night. According to the post, the woman called 911 to say she was trapped in the car and the man was let out.

Crews from multiple agencies, as well as civilians, then began searching the crash site. Officials said they were able to deploy multiple rope systems to extricate the woman from the vehicle when she was found. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The park in Staunton has more than 2,500 acres of ridges and valleys with trails.
