Former first lady Melania Trump made a rare public appearance with her husband, former President Donald Trump, on Tuesday, hinting at a possible role in the 2024 presidential campaign.
When the Trumps were voting in the Florida Republican primary, a reporter asked the former first lady if she would return to the campaign trail with her husband.
“Please look forward to it,” she replied.
Melania Trump rarely participates in campaign events or appears in public with her husband. Although she appeared at the 2022 campaign launch, she has not participated in recent rallies or various court appearances, and has not attended any of her victory speeches in early primary states or on Super Tuesday. She was not among the family members on stage.
The two were spotted together at Melania Trump’s mother’s funeral in January.
The former president was asked about his low profile during a town hall with Fox News host Laura Ingraham last month, calling her a “private person” who is focused on her family.
“You know, a lot of first ladies are going to be out. They want to be everywhere. They’re angry because their husbands won’t introduce them,” Trump said. “She would have been so happy if I hadn’t introduced her to Melania. She’s just a different kind of person.”
