Immigration is the most important issue for Republican primary voters in Ohio, according to CBS News exit polls from Tuesday’s election.
Multiple voters — 45% — report Immigration is a top concern when voting in the Republican presidential primary. 29% rated the economy as the biggest issue, 13% cited abortion and 8% cited foreign policy.
Similarly, 73% of respondents said illegal immigrants who crossed President Joe Biden’s vast border should be deported, and 23% said they “should be offered an opportunity to obtain legal status.” Ta.

CBS News did not specify how many respondents were surveyed or provide a margin of error as results continued to be released throughout Tuesday night.
The poll was conducted in the midst of Ohio’s presidential primary as well as the U.S. Senate primary. Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno, backed by former President Donald Trump, is competing with establishment-backed state Sen. Matt Dolan for a chance to win Sen. Sherrod Brown’s (D-Ohio) seat. (Republican Party).
