‘Nothing’ Has Come Out of Afghanistan Probe, It’s ‘a Witch Hunt’

Speaking to NewsNation before Tuesday’s hearing on the Afghanistan withdrawal, Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.), ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said the documents and testimony the Biden administration has provided to the investigation into the Afghanistan withdrawal. He said that “nothing” had come out of it. Regarding the response to Afghanistan, he said, “Other committees like the Oversight Committee and the Judiciary Committee are conducting witch hunts, but this is a different process, just like there is nothing there.” .

Mr. Meeks said: “I don’t think we’re going to hear much new. Generals have testified before the House Armed Services Committee before. I think we’re going to hear the same things we heard when they testified before.”

He added: “The Biden administration has submitted more than 11,000 documents. [has] Submitted a witness. And so far, guess what has come out of it: nothing. So it’s a different process, just like other committees like the Oversight Committee or the Judiciary Committee are doing witch hunts and there’s nothing there. Now, I hope so, and what should happen is to look back on the entire 20 years in Afghanistan and look back at what worked, what didn’t work, what led, and what didn’t. It’s about making it clear. That’s the way. As opposed to politicizing the issue of how we should move forward and how best to move forward, what we should fix, and what we should do well, oversight should It should be done. ”
