On Saturday, two former college hockey teammates were murdered in their Miami apartment by their boyfriends who pointed guns at them.
Miami-Dade police said Luis Napoles, 40, shot and killed his girlfriend, Megan Moore, 25, and her roommate, Sydney Capolino, 23.
Police arrived at the scene around 9 p.m. and found Moore suffering from gunshot wounds outside an apartment. As they tried to rescue her, gunshots were heard inside her residence. new york post report.
Napoles, Moore and Capolino were all pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not yet released a motive for the killing.

The New York Post reported that the three lived together in the Windsor Ludlum Trail Apartments, and one of Moore’s friends told the outlet that Moore and Napoles had a rocky relationship. He is said to have said that.
“We found there were some issues there,” she said. “But that’s not the case at this point. I can’t believe this happened.”
Moore is from Centerville, Massachusetts, and Capolino is from Pawling, New York, according to student-athlete biographies on the University of New England Athletics website. Moore will graduate in 2021 and Capollino will graduate in 2022, the school confirmed.

“Meghan and Sidney are known to many on campus and we are deeply saddened by this shocking news. At this difficult time, we would like to extend our condolences to the families of Meghan and Sidney. and his friends remain in our thoughts and prayers,” said Dr. Wayne F. L’Esperance, Jr., principal of the school. , he wrote in a statement.
Capollino had just earned her registered nursing license in Florida on February 9, according to a license check from the Florida Department of Health. Moore studied criminal justice at the University of New England, NBC 10 reported.

Tara Rooney, a former college teammate of Moore’s, told the Miami Herald that her friend’s death “will change me forever.” [her]. ”

She was, without a doubt, the funniest person I’ve ever met without even trying,” Rooney said. “Having someone like her in my life was so special because without Meg I wouldn’t have had her wonderful family in my life or her amazing best friends from the Cape. Moore’s mother, Marybeth, told NBC10 that her daughter was known as a hockey star in her hometown.

Another friend, Caroline Spart, said she FaceTimed Moore for hours every night. She insisted that Napoles was not Moore’s boyfriend, contrary to police claims.
“They weren’t boyfriend and girlfriend,” Spalt told NBC 10. “A bunch of our articles say that’s what’s in the headline. That’s completely false. And, you know, I’m 1000% sure. I think I know – I I talk to her every day.”

She said Moore and Napoles knew each other from Moore’s previous job.

Records show Napoles was evicted from his previous apartment in Coral Gables in 2023 for nonpayment.
He wrote in a memo to the court that he was unable to pay his $2,300 monthly rent because he lost his restaurant job, the New York Post reported. He wrote that he had just gotten a new job and would soon be able to pay off his debt, but he was quickly kicked out.
