5 Important Things Christians Should Understand about Solar Eclipses

1. What happens during a solar eclipse?

A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun, blocking all or part of the sun’s light from reaching the Earth. These alignments occur due to the orbits of the Earth, Moon, and Sun, and are arranged periodically so that the moon’s shadow falls on the Earth. Some areas of North America will be in the “total orbit” of the April solar eclipse. This means that people in those areas will experience a total solar eclipse.
