North Carolina State rolls with March Madness upset over Texas Tech

North Carolina continues its Cinderella march.

After capping a five-game winning streak with a surprise win in the ACC Tournament, the 11th-seeded Wolfpack defeated No. 5 seed Texas Tech 80-80 in the first round of the Southern NCAA Tournament at PPG Paints Arena on Thursday night. I broke it with 67. In Pittsburgh.

Mohamed Diarra had a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, leading the Wolfpack to a convincing victory.

NC State took a virtual wire-to-wire lead and scored 43 points in the second half to win.

Their next game will be against No. 14 seed Oakland, which defeated Kentucky on Saturday.
