Notable items from Friday’s Yankees game against the Grapefruit League:
full time
Jose Trevino played the full nine innings for the first time this spring, allowing two hits.
Not a gray day
In a game where the Yankees’ defense was solid, Gleyber Torres couldn’t handle Francisco Lindor’s sharp ground ball from his bat to second base.
It caught my eye
Juan Soto, Anthony Volpe, and Trent Grisham each made quality catches.
In the second inning, Soto made a running catch that hit the right field wall, and in the fifth inning, Volpe made a difficult diving catch into the shallow left field.

Grisham then started a double play with a nice diving grab in that gap in the sixth inning.
Starling Marte was spinning at second base when Grisham caught the ball, but the Gold Glove center fielder easily allowed a leadoff double.
Saturday schedule
The Yankees will be on squad duty (both games at 1:05 p.m.) with Carlos Rodon starting against the Phillies at Steinbrenner Field and Cody Poteet and Clayton Beater starting against the Tigers in Lakeland, Fla. do.
