Proctor started all 14 games for the Crimson Tide as a true freshman and was the highest performing left tackle during conference championship weekend.
However, shortly after head coach Nick Saban retired, Proctor entered the portal and attended his hometown school, which he had been a fan of since childhood.
“This is ultimately where I wanted to go. It was the first place I thought of when I entered the transfer portal, so I made up my mind as soon as I entered the transfer portal,” Proctor said of transferring to Iowa. He spoke about it through The Athletic. .

This is not the first time Proctor has not included Iowa State in the Crimson Tide. He originally intended to join the Hawkeyes in high school, but changed his mind in the early days of his signing.
“It is unfortunate that Kadin announced his intention to leave our program today,” Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said earlier this week. “We wish him all the best for the future.”
Since Proctor is a non-graduate, he will not be able to enter the portal until next month. Therefore, he is still listed as an active player on Iowa’s roster.
He was the No. 1 offensive lineman in the 2023 high school class and the No. 7 ranked player overall.
