Videos of migrants pouring across the southern border and trampling the Texas National Guard have “inspired” Lone Star State residents to consider supporting the TEXIT movement, according to the movement’s leading proponents.
Daniel Miller, president of the Texas Nationalist Movement, told Fox News Digital that the border crisis is the “most openly visible sign” of the federal government’s “incompetence.”
“Especially at this time, the most openly visible signs are that the federal government is not only incompetent when it comes to the border and immigration, but is doing everything in its power to promote what is in fact what is sure to be a breakdown of the border. “It’s the same as Mexico,” Miller said.
Miller said the TEXIT movement, which seeks to inherit Texas from the United States, is gradually gaining momentum amid the ongoing border crisis.

A leading Texas secessionist says President Biden’s handling of immigration has “moved the needle” in TEXIT’s favor.
“I think this policy has shifted the attention of these people 100% squarely into the TEXIT or pro-TEXIT category. The reason is simple: If we want a sensible, sensible immigration policy and an immigration policy So, to have secure borders, we would have to do it as a self-governing, independent nation like 200 other countries around the world,” Miller said.
Miller said TEXIT skeptics should consider the context of the rights autonomous states have, including the right to set their own immigration policies.
“One of those rights is that they have the right to secure their own borders and set their own immigration policies,” he said.
“And when you use that as context for what’s going on here right now, you see that the biggest obstacle for Texas to secure its borders is the federal government,” Miller said. “Every action we take to specifically crack down on criminal activity at our southern border is repeatedly thwarted by the federal government.”

Miller cited multiple lawsuits by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Gov. Greg Abbott against the Biden administration’s Department of Homeland Security as evidence that the federal government is an “obstacle” to Texas’ border defenses. listed.
“Attorney General Ken Paxton had to go to court to protect Texas’ right to secure our nation’s borders,” Miller said. “When current Governor Greg Abbott was attorney general, he often claimed that he sued the federal government more than any other attorney general in Texas history.”

“What we feel is more interference from the federal government, and the federal government doesn’t want to do the job,” Miller said. “But when Texas tried to [secure their border] The federal government becomes an obstacle. ”
“Our only recourse is to do what 200 other self-governing nations around the world have done and reclaim our right to secure our borders, set our immigration policies, and address them in a way that makes sense to us.”

Since joining the Texas Nationalist Movement, Miller said he has witnessed firsthand an “invasion” at the border and a federal government that is “out of control.”
“In 1996 I noticed the border crisis, the federal debt, and small overreach,” he said. “Now it has ballooned beyond my comprehension.”

What’s happening on our southern border is an invasion no matter how you look at it.
“What’s happening on our southern border is an invasion no matter how you look at it, and it’s all facilitated by an out-of-touch, tyrannical and out-of-control federal government,” Miller said. “And we have the opportunity to vote for some members of Congress, and the president will be on the ballot, but at the end of the day, there are 2.5 million unelected federal bureaucrats who are actually driving this issue. cannot vote for.”

“What we’ve seen is that, at the end of the day, Texas is better governed under 180,000 pages of federal laws, rules and regulations administered by 2.5 million unelected bureaucrats. There’s a growing recognition among Texans that it’s much better.”
Success lies in understanding that the best people to govern Texas are clearly Texans.
