Husband of missing Ana Knezevich refuses lie detector test: report

The estranged husband of a Florida real estate agent who disappeared in Spain amid a bitter divorce was given an FBI lie detector test even though he said he wanted to “clear the air” and prove his involvement in the incident. According to the report, he refused to accept the offer.

Ana Knezevic, a 40-year-old Colombian-born American citizen, went missing in Madrid in early February after a bitter breakup with her husband, David Knezevic, 35, according to family and friends.

The Serbian-American man refused to take a polygraph test offered by the FBI, Spanish news outlet Caso Abierto reported, citing sources familiar with the investigation. According to Olive Press.

The state of Florida (where the couple once lived in Fort Lauderdale) accepts lie detector tests as evidence in criminal investigations, but suspects may refuse to take the test, according to the report. That’s what it means.

Last month, David said he wanted to “clear the air” about Anna’s disappearance, his attorney Ken Padowitz told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo.

She claimed that her estranged husband lived in Serbia and that the couple’s separation was amicable.

Friends said Knezevic and her husband ran a technology consulting business in Florida before she went to Madrid to seek peace of mind.

Asked why David did not go to Spain to assist local authorities, Mr Padowitz said his client was of little use.

“He has no friends in Spain, he has no relatives in Spain, he owns no property in Spain and he does not speak Spanish,” his lawyer told Mr. Cuomo last month.

“So it doesn’t seem very productive for him to suddenly be expected to fly to another country he’s never been to and try to do something there,” he added.

His attorney did not immediately respond Monday to a request for comment on the lie detector test report.

Ana rented an apartment in Madrid in December and corresponded regularly with friends until she went missing on February 2.

her friend Sanna Rameau told WSVN. She texted him the day she disappeared but received no response.

The next day, Anna received a message from her cell phone telling her that she had met a man and that a unique “connection” was formed almost immediately.

“We received a very strange message from her mobile phone. On the Saturday afternoon after she disappeared, we didn’t think it was her that sent it, so we said ‘from her mobile phone.’ “I can’t help it. She met a man on the street,” Rameau said.

Rameau told the Daily Mail Her friend had recently been using the dating app Bumble, and police are currently questioning the men she chatted with on the site.
