Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) is leading Prince George’s County Executive Angela Raskin over fellow Rep. David Trone (D-Md.) in a closely watched Maryland Senate race. Supported Mr. Alsobrooks.
“Who would you want in the United States Senate to champion a woman’s right to choose? I want Angela Alsobrooks. Who would champion the people’s right to vote? I’m Angela Alsobrooks. ,” Raskin said in the article. video Show your support.
Mr. Albrooks and Mr. Tron are competing in the Maryland primary for the Senate seat vacated by retiring Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.).
Ruskin’s support is Washington Post University of Maryland (UMD) Poll An article published last week revealed that Tron had a roughly seven-point lead over Alsobrooks in the preliminary round.
Whichever Democrat wins the primary, he will face a potentially difficult general election battle against former Gov. Larry Hogan, a Republican who made a surprise entry into the race last month. Maryland is typically a strong state in Senate races, but Hogan’s entry appears to give Republicans a fighting chance in the state.
Even though a post-UMD poll found that a majority of Marylanders preferred Democrats to control the Senate, Tron and Alsobrooks faced off against Hogan in a hypothetical general election showdown. It turned out that he too was defeated.
“If Larry Hogan goes to the Senate, he will become another wall for Donald Trump and his party,” Raskin said in the video. He added that if Alsobrooks wins the seat, he will be “defending democracy and freedom against Donald Trump and the MAGA right.”
Last year, Mr. Raskin, the ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, turned down Mr. Cardin’s idea of running for the Senate and instead launched his own bid for re-election to the House.
“I am very happy to receive support from my friends. @Jamie Raskin. He is a passionate defender of democracy and a passionate advocate for Marylanders, and I can’t wait to work with him to serve all Americans in the Senate. ” Said With X.
