Israel Leaves Hostage Talks After UN Resolution Boosts Hamas Demands

Israel on Tuesday withdrew its key negotiators from hostage negotiations in Doha, Qatar, after Hamas toughened its demands in response to a UN Security Council resolution calling for an unconditional ceasefire.

As Breitbart News reported, after the US abstained and granted, Hamas further pursued its demand for a ceasefire before releasing the hostages. United Nations Security Council Resolution 2728 Passed with support from both Russia and China.

The resolution called for the release of the remaining Israeli hostages, but did not make freedom of the hostages a condition of a cease-fire, as in an earlier resolution introduced last week by the United States and vetoed by Russia and China. There wasn’t.
