Biden’s DHS Freed Gang Member into U.S., Now Accused of Drive-By Shooting

A Venezuelan gang member released to the United States by President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is accused of carrying out a drive-by shooting in the sanctuary city of Chicago, Illinois.

Adelbis Rodríguez Carmona, a 29-year-old illegal immigrant linked to Venezuela’s Torren de Aragua gang, took first place. encountered July 2022, along the U.S.-Mexico border near Eagle Pass, Texas.

Rodriguez-Carmona was placed in deportation proceedings and released on a recognizance order, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). On July 7, 2023, a federal judge issued a final deportation order after Rodriguez-Carmona failed to appear in immigration court.

Then, on February 24, police in Cicero, Illinois arrested Rodriguez-Carmona on charges of felonious unlawful use of a weapon, failure to carry firearms identification, driving without a license, driving without insurance, and possession of adult-use marijuana in a vehicle. was indicted. His vehicle was found after an alleged drive-by shooting in Chicago’s Little Italy neighborhood.

Thanks to Chicago’s sanctuary policy, which protects criminal illegal aliens from federal immigration law, Rodriguez-Carmona was released from prison without being turned over to ICE agents.

Earlier this month, on March 11, ICE agents arrested Rodriguez Carmona at his home. He is currently being held in a detention center in Juneau, Wisconsin, awaiting deportation from the United States.

“This Venezuelan non-national posed a serious threat to the residents of our community,” said ICE’s Raymond Hernandez. “Not only is he a legitimate member of a transnational street gang, he has also demonstrated a willingness to illegally discharge a firearm in public.”
