A married father of two was killed in an ugly bar fight while attending a friend’s bachelor party in Baton Rouge over the weekend, authorities and his family said.
Devin Michael Repas, 26, of Louisiana, came down with a cold after being punched during a fight at Fred’s Bar near LSU’s campus in Baton Rouge around 1:20 a.m. Saturday. the police said.
The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and died early Tuesday morning, police said.
The East Baton Rouge Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a mode of homicide by blunt force trauma. WAFB reported.
No arrests have been made as police review surveillance footage and track down everyone involved in the deadly fight.
“There are a lot of unknowns at this point,” East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore said, according to the office.
“We have to wait and see what the facts and evidence indicate the appropriate decision should be.”
Baton Rouge Police Chief TJ Morse said in an unrelated news conference Monday that the fight started inside the bar and then spread outside to the parking lot. According to The Advocate.
According to WAFB, Repas’ family said he was in town for a bachelor party.
He leaves behind a wife and two young sons, according to a fundraising page set up for the grieving family.
