A man who allegedly held a woman at gunpoint and robbed her of her shoes in Oklahoma City on Saturday night had a tragic end when he crashed his car into a utility pole during a police pursuit.

Carter was taken into custody and booked into jail, KOTV said.
He was charged with eluding police and endangering another person, robbery and attempted use of a dangerous weapon, according to jail records. Carter remained in jail Wednesday afternoon.
Carter was also injured, the newspaper reported, citing police. A photograph of his mug showed his right eye swollen shut and numerous abrasions on his right forehead and nose. Carter is being held without bail, the newspaper said.
