A Florida woman encountered not just one but two alligators during a two-mile run, one of which ended up in the other’s mouth.
Charlotte County resident Sue Edwards was walking around the lake at Babock Ranch on Sunday when she first spotted the reptile, Fox 35 Orlando reported.
It wasn’t until I got a little closer that I realized how strange the scene was.

“When I got closer I saw something in its mouth and at first I thought it was a snake, but as I got closer I realized it was a much smaller crocodile,” Edwards told the station. Ta.

Edwards stopped to take a few photos of the bizarre encounter before continuing on his way.
She also gave warnings to those she passed, letting them know what was to come. She specifically urged people walking their dogs to be careful, Fox 35 reported.
Edwards decided to run the loop one more time, hoping to encounter the alligator again.

“This time he looked at me and it got creepy,” Edwards told FOX 35.

“He ran back into the water with the little alligator in his mouth, and I kept running. I love the wildlife in Florida,” she said.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) says on its website that alligators are known as “opportunistic feeders.”
“Their diet includes abundant and easily available prey. Young crocodiles primarily eat insects, amphibians, small fish, and other invertebrates. Adult crocodiles eat rough fish, snakes, “They feed on turtles, small mammals, and birds,” the website states.

A FWC spokesperson previously told Fox 13 in Tampa that alligators can sometimes be cannibalistic.

This isn’t the first time a Florida alligator has been seen eating its own kind.
In 2023, Barbara D’Angelo visited Orlando Wetlands Park and took a photo of what appeared to be a large alligator devouring a much smaller alligator, Fox News Digital reported.
In 2022, Florida resident Tammy Shaw was paddling along Silver Springs in Marion County when she captured video of an 11-foot alligator. eat a small crocodile It was almost half the size, Fox Weather said.

The FWC says Floridians can expect more alligator sightings as the early stages of courtship can begin as early as April through June.
