A young man from Baltimore miraculously escaped the recent collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge just three minutes later.
according to face wire, Jaden Woof, 20, was walking back and forth from the bridge after getting into an argument with his girlfriend, who lives on the north side of the river. His mother, Jen Woof, said: telegraph paper Her son tried to get back in the direction of his girlfriend, so he crossed the bridge three times in a row, but was eventually sent back home, police said.
After crossing the 1.6-mile bridge three times in a row, a cargo ship collided with one of the structural beams, causing the entire structure to suddenly collapse. When he almost got home, his girlfriend texted him asking if he was okay.
“He thought she was texting him because they were arguing, but she said the bridge had collapsed,” Jen told the newspaper. “He came to my house, frantically screaming at me and showing me the video.”
The bridge, first built in 1977, collapsed at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday after a cargo ship crashed during a temporary power outage. It is estimated that about six construction workers died after falling into the water when the building collapsed.
as CBN News As previously reported, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) said he met with the families of the victims and prayed with them.
“We had a chance to spend time with the family earlier today and they’ve been great,” he said. “They are prayerful people and we have had the opportunity to pray with them and we have had the opportunity to pray for them. And we know that we are going to continue to pray for them, not just us. I want to tell them, they have 6.3 million people, and they have the whole country, the whole world, praying for their peace.”
