Reds assistant pitching coach Aron Reichman is a proud Israeli who wears a glove with a powerful message on MLB Opening Day.
WCPO discovered Reichmann’s gloves with the words “Take Me Home Now!” stitched on the outside the day before the Reds’ season opener against the Washington Nationals.
Reichman, who coaches the Israeli team in the World Baseball Classic, also wears an Israeli flag on his glove.

Reichmann’s baseball story begins in Israel, where he grew up on Kibbutz Gezer between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. He played the game in a country that wasn’t fully invested in the game in the ’90s.
Although Reichmann has never played a game professionally, he served as a coach and pitcher for Team Israel, including during the 2020 Summer Olympics, where he pitched a perfect inning against Team USA in Tokyo.

The Los Angeles Dodgers initially hired Reichman as an instructional league coach in 2016, beginning his journey as an MLB coach.
He joined the Seattle Mariners’ player development program in 2017 and worked his way up the ranks from there. He served as the pitching coach for the Class A West Virginia Power in 2019 and moved to the Double-A Arkansas Travelers in the same role in 2020 and 2021.

Reichman then became the pitching coach for the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers in 2022. He joined the Reds in December of the same year as an assistant pitching coach, becoming MLB’s first Israeli coach.
