Jerry Seinfeld had ‘lots of fights’ with Hugh Grant while working together on upcoming film

Jerry Seinfeld said he still loves Hugh Grant “very much” despite having “a lot of fights” while working together on an upcoming project.

The comedian, who is making his directorial debut with the upcoming film Unfrosted, opened up about his professional relationship with the British actor in a recent interview, explaining why he is “painful” to work with. I explained why.

“We had a lot of fights,” Seinfeld said. “He’s a pain to work with. He’s a terrible guy. Before you start working with him, he says, ‘You’re going to hate this.’ And he’s so right. ”

However, according to Seinfeld, any tension between the two on set quickly dissipated after they got to know each other on set.

“We shot for 10 weeks, and he and I had dinner that night and we got drunk over dinner and it was a great night,” Seinfeld said during an appearance on The Tonight Show. Told. “Because he’s so cool, so British, so witty, so good in the jacket…he’s one of those guys. I love those guys.”

Grant, who plays Thurl Ravenscroft, the voice behind Tony the Tiger, recently opened up about how Seinfeld made him feel “very supportive.”

“Jerry brings a lot of different things to the table,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “He was a great comic and wrote great scripts. He and his team were always able to massage the scene and come up with new jokes left, right and center. He was lovely and I They were very supportive.”

Seinfeld admitted that he did not initially consider Grant for the role, but that he ultimately decided to participate.

“That character is Thurl Ravenscroft, which is the real name of the guy who voiced Tony the Tiger. So I imagine a frustrated Shakespearean actor who has to play this embarrassing role to pay for his car payment. “But Hugh Grant is perfect for that,” he told “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon. “I didn’t have Hugh Grant in mind for this role…and I love Hugh Grant so much.”

“Then he called us,” he added. “He said, ‘I want to be in a Pop-Tart movie.’ So he got the script and he auditioned on his cell phone with a glass of wine in hand.”
