Meanwhile Watford have been doing what Watford do best: sacking the boss. Valérien Ismaël is their latest managerial departure, with Tom Cleverley in as interim – that’s one to make you feel old. Of course, it’s worth noting that Leeds’ line-up includes several names who have had heartbreaks during international matches: Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu and Dan James played in Wales’ play-off defeat to Poland, but James was absent in the penalty shootout. It’s certainly difficult to overcome, but both Rodon and Ampadu are a brilliant duo in the final half, with James scoring 12 goals this season. I’ll explain next.
