A grandfather in California was shot after leaving his house to sit on his doorstep. According to police, her beloved husband was murdered in front of her granddaughter. After failing to track down the culprit for months, law enforcement is now offering a hefty reward to bring the killer to justice.
Hector Asensio Sr. was with his granddaughter at his home in the Southgate neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, on September 16, 2023, at approximately 9:00 p.m.
Asensio said her 10-year-old granddaughter was sitting nearby in the living room when she heard a knock on the door. KABC TV report. When the 57-year-old grandfather answered the door, he was shot and killed by the gunman.

The suspect allegedly fled the scene of the crime and drove away at a high rate of speed in a dark-colored four-door vehicle. It is unclear whether there were other people in the car.

Investigators do not know the motive for this senseless murder.
Hector’s family said their grandfather had no enemies but were still shocked by the murder.
Los Angeles Supervisor Janice Hahn said: statement“Hector was at home with his family when someone brutally took his life. His granddaughter watched him die. We need to bring his killers to justice as soon as possible.” We ask for the cooperation of the people.”
On Thursday, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the city of Southgate both approved a $30,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect who killed the grandfather.
Andy Asensio, one of Hector’s sons, said, “If you saw something or were with that person, please speak up immediately. That’s not right. Why did they shoot him? He I just opened the door and just took him in.”
