A group of local residents in Mexico have slammed a woman and her two sons believed to be responsible for the brutal murder of an 8-year-old girl. Residents of Taxco, Guerrero, brutally beat three murder suspects until authorities deported them. One woman died from injuries sustained during the beating, and her two sons are in critical condition.

Cellphone video shared on social media showed a mob of local residents acting as vigilantes and beating a topless woman believed to be one of the murder suspects. “Don’t touch the children,” an angry townsman can be heard shouting as he kicks the woman. The woman died at a local hospital.

The incident began in Taxco on Wednesday afternoon, when the woman let her 8-year-old daughter Camila play at a neighbor’s house, news outlet Animal Politico reported. Three hours later, the woman went to pick up her daughter, but her family friend Ana Rosa Díaz Aguilar told her that Camila had not come to her home.
The next morning, authorities found the girl’s body in a black trash bag on the side of a nearby highway. Authorities said the main suspects were Ana Rosa and two male suspects.

While authorities were investigating the incident, neighbors and family friends outraged by the murder launched their own investigation. While monitoring private surveillance cameras, they found footage of Ana Rosa and another man leaving her home carrying a large basket and a black trash bag identical to the one that contained the girl’s body. . The two put their baskets and bags inside a white taxi.

Local residents took to social media to express their anger at the murder and the authorities’ inaction. A lynch mob quickly formed Thursday afternoon. Rioters overturned several cars and blocked certain roads to prevent Ana Rosa and her two adult sons from escaping.
The lynch mob broke into her home, dragged three adults onto the street, and beat them repeatedly until state and federal police rescued them.
