Dolly Parton lauds Beyonce’s cover of iconic song ‘Jolene’

County music singer Dolly Parton praised her cover of Beyoncé’s signature song “Jolene” after the R&B artist released her first country album.

“Wow, I just heard Jolene’s voice. Beyoncé is giving that girl trouble and she deserves it!” Posted by Parton Post on X, formerly known as Twitter, with a heart emoji.

Beyoncé released her new album, Cowboy Carter, on Friday, receiving praise from many fans, including Vice President Harris and Parton.

On the album, Beyoncé covers Parton’s 1973 song. ranked In 2004, it was included in Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Beyoncé described her album as “borne out of an experience I had many years ago where I felt unwelcome…and it was clear that I wasn’t welcome.”

The country album aims to celebrate the singer’s Texas roots. She released a song from her album “Texas Hold’em” last month.

Spotify announced Friday that the album was the streaming platform’s “most streamed album in a single day so far in 2024.”
