A Chinese national who entered the United States illegally through the southern border has been convicted of child pornography crimes.

Law enforcement took Sun into custody, during which time investigators reportedly found child pornography on Sun’s cell phone.
One of the videos showed a girl under the age of 5 being sexually abused by an adult, according to an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations and the Border Patrol. Another video showed a girl under the age of 13 being sexually assaulted, according to the complaint.
U.S. prosecutors said Sun admitted to possessing a cell phone and possessing child pornography.
“Mr. Sun further stated that he intended to delete the video in Mexico before illegally entering the United States, but that he did not have the opportunity to do so,” the release states. read.

On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Drew B. Tipton sentenced Tong to 12 years in federal prison for child sex crimes.
Sun will also be ordered to pay a special assessment of $35,000 and will serve five years on supervised release after the end of his sentence, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced. said.
“During that time, he will have to comply with numerous requirements put in place to restrict his access to children and the Internet, and he will be ordered to register as a sex offender,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
The illegal immigrant is expected to be deported after completing his sentence.
Mr. Tong will remain in custody until a decision is made soon to transfer him to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.
