Emotions ran high at the end of Saturday’s game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays. Blue Jays pitcher Genesis Cabrera got into a heated argument with Rays infielder Jose Caballero in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Two brawls have broken out in the past two days as the Major League Baseball season enters its third day. During Friday’s Mets-Brewers game, players spilled out of their respective dugouts after Milwaukee’s Reese Hoskins slid hard into second base while attempting a double play.

Saturday’s altercation turned physical with Cabrera shoving Caballero, leaving both teams’ benches empty. Just before the faceoff, Caballero’s bunt single gave up a run. However, he continued around the bases after third baseman Justin Turner committed a throwing error. Toronto outfielder George Springer ran down the errant pitch and threw it to the shortstop, who tagged Caballero out at third base.

“I saw the ball in the bullpen and started running. The coach was waving me to go to third base. When I got to third base, I saw Bichette already had the ball, so I gave up. I slowed down a little bit. “Cabrera came out of nowhere and tagged me, but there was no play. I was already ejected,” Caballero said. “I asked him, why did you push me? He didn’t say anything. He just came to me and pushed me again.”
