Fox News revealed on Sunday that about 1,000 “fugitive” immigrants entered the country illegally through the southern border.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials told Fox News that 919 “fugitives” — illegal immigrants who are not recorded in the official monthly border count — have crossed the border. Immigrants are still being tracked within CBP.

Latest statistics show the seven-day average number of “vacationers” at the southern border is 761 per day. The incident comes days after the Texas Department of Public Safety arrested four immigrants who were seen crossing the border fence and cutting wire.

“The destruction of state property is a crime and those responsible will be arrested and prosecuted,” the ministry said in a post to X.

Beyond the Southwest, the influx of immigrants is impacting multiple states across the country. Denver city official Andres Carrera was recently filmed directing a group of migrants to another city.

“The opportunity is over,” Carrera reportedly told the group in Spanish. “New York gives you more. Chicago gives you more. So I recommend going somewhere that has long-term shelter. There are also more job opportunities there. .”

“If you want to stay here, we’re not going to block you… [but] If you stay here you will suffer even more and I don’t want to see this. ”

Boston authorities also recently began housing immigrants in veterans housing due to limited resources. A recently opened emergency shelter in Roxbury reached its 400-person capacity last month, just one week after opening.

Illegal immigration is still considered a major problem by many Americans, according to a recent Gallup poll released Friday. 48% of survey participants said they were concerned about this issue, an increase of 7 points from last year’s survey.

Among poll participants, Democratic concern about illegal immigration increased from 14% to 27%. Another Associated Press poll found that among those surveyed, 79% of Republicans, 54% of Democrats and 56% of independents supported hiring more Border Patrol agents.
