Caitlin Clark’s incredible performance in the University of Iowa’s win over LSU on Monday left her boyfriend Connor McCaffery speechless.
McCaffery, a former member of the Iowa Hawkeyes men’s basketball team and the son of head coach Fran McCaffery, posted 41 points, 12 assists and 7 rebounds on his way to the Final Four on his Instagram Stories. He violently abused Clark for recording him. They defeated the reigning national champion Tigers 94-87.
“I have no words for this 1 @caitlinclark22,” McCaffery posted along with an ESPN graphic profiling Clark’s Elite Eight highlights.
It was a historic night for Clark. Clark made his 538th 3-point shot of his college career, making him the all-time NCAA Division I record holder.
“It’s great to be back in the Final Four. It was very difficult to get there, especially because this area was so crowded. We told ourselves we were the No. 1 seed. We earned this for a reason. We deserve to be in this moment. We are ready for moments like these.”
On Monday, the Lady Tigers defeated the Hawkeyes 102-85 in a highly anticipated rematch of last year’s national title game.

LSU coach Kim Mulkey praised Clark after Monday’s game.
“She’s just a generational player and just makes everyone around her better. That’s what great people do,” Mulkey said.
Clark is scheduled to enter the 2024 WNBA Draft this month and is expected to be the top pick by the Indiana Fever, but there is still a lot of work ahead of him.
“We want to get two more wins and I think we have the ability to do that,” Clark said.
The top-seeded Hawkeyes next play third-seeded UW on Friday in Cleveland.
The winner advances to Sunday’s championship contest to face the winner of South Carolina vs. North Carolina State.
Clark has had McCaffrey’s support throughout this exciting season, including a special night in February when she surpassed Kelsey Plumb’s 3,527 points to become NCAA women’s basketball’s all-time leading scorer.
The couple’s relationship was made public last year.
