Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake raised $1 million Wednesday at a Mar-a-Lago fundraiser attended by former President Donald Trump, a record amount for a non-incumbent. Naru, a source close to Lake told Breitbart News.
Ohio Senate candidate Bernie Moreno held the record for $350,000 earlier this year, according to people familiar with the matter.
The huge gain is a boost for Lake heading into the new quarter, with just seven months until Election Day.
Lake has not disclosed the most recent quarterly funding amount, but the company raised $2.1 million in the last quarter of 2023.
Lake, who predictably won the Republican primary, will likely face radical Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.). Incumbent independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (Iowa, Arizona) has decided not to run for re-election.
A poll conducted on behalf of Lake’s campaign in February showed Mr. Lake leading Mr. Gallego in a hypothetical general election showdown.
