Aetna and Dignity Health fail to work out negotiations for new contract – KSBY News

Most Dignity Health facilities and providers in California are no longer considered part of Aetna’s health insurance network.

Aetna and Dignity Health have been negotiating for a new contract, but were unable to reach an agreement, and the current contract has now expired.

In a statement to KSBY, Dignity Health said in part:

“We remain committed to putting the best interests of our patients first, with the hope of reaching a new agreement as soon as possible. Our commitment to providing quality care to our patients is unwavering.” It is important to emphasize that we were unable to reach an agreement and thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.”

In a statement to KSBY, Aetna said in part:

“Negotiating fair reimbursement rates is directly related to our ability to keep member costs low and maintain access to quality care. We are committed to fair contracts that benefit our members. We continue to negotiate health with dignity in the hopes of achieving that goal.”

Aetna advises members to call the number on the back of their membership card if they have questions or for assistance in transferring care to an in-network provider.
