Eagle-eyed cops collar ‘erratic’ NYC subway denizen carrying machete

A sharp-eyed NYPD transit officer collared an “unstable” man on the subway who was holding what appeared to be a bloody machete, police officials said.

Officials say around 11:30 a.m. Friday, officers inspecting a station on the C and E lines at 50th Street and Eighth Avenue noticed disorderly behavior on the southbound mezzanine platform. I found a man.

Officials said the man had a large knife on his back that appeared to have red liquid on it.

Justin Wojno, 43, was arrested without incident and charged with weapons possession, officials said.

Officials said no one was injured and the red substance turned out to be syrup.

Sources said Wojno had a “few” prior arrests, including for domestic violence assault and robbery dating back to 1999.
