Celebrity chef and World Central Kitchen founder Jose Andres told ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday that Israel is waging a “war against humanity.”
Speaking about the World Central Kitchen employees killed in Gaza, Andres said, “We can’t bring the problem to Hamas every time something happens. I think I know better than anyone. There should be protocols. There have to be rules of engagement, and in combat zones, someone has to look at them because humanitarians are dying too often right now. No.”
He added: “This is no longer about the seven men and women of World Central Kitchen who died in this unfortunate event. This has been happening for far too long. We continue to target anything that moves. It’s been six months since then.”
Andres added: “This doesn’t seem like a war on terror. This no longer looks like a war to defend Israel. Israelis, at this point, think this is a war against humanity itself. That’s why, yes, I’m demanding that this investigation, and her many investigations, be done properly and in an independent manner, not just the families of World Central Kitchen or the families of the deceased. It is also necessary for all other NGOs that have been targeted or lost members to understand exactly how the IDF has been operating. We can all learn from it.”
